

Ryan Carda - Director
With over two decades dedicated strictly to geothermal heating and cooling, Ryan is a multi-state licensed Professional Engineer leading GSHP design-build, ground-loop engineering, standards development, training programs, and software creation. His project history spans residential properties and planned developments to large multifamily buildings, university campuses, municipal facilities, and K-12 school systems.
Credentials & Leadership Roles
- Certifications: IGSHPA Certified GeoExchange Designer (CGD) and Accredited Installer.
- Educational Background: Earned an M.S. in Engineering from South Dakota State University in 2006.
- Industry Leadership: Served as Chair of the IGSHPA Standards Committee from 2017 to 2022 and current member of the NY-GEO Board.
- Key Contributions: Co-authored "Design and Installation of Residential and Light Commercial GSHP Systems," assisted in constructing the IGSHPA Accredited Installer and Certified Designer coursework, and contributed to the ASHRAE handbook.
Active in the geothermal heat pump sector since 2004, Ryan is always open to discussions regarding geothermal design-build projects, industry standards, and the advancement of GSHP software tools.
